An Introduction to Battlefleet Gothic

What were you doing in 1999? Ploughing cathedral-sized spaceships into other spaceships? If so, you were doing it right.

Those were better, brighter times. When your weapons batteries fired in centimetres and your ships turned at right angles.

Deck and Dagger is bringing it back — join us for an Introduction to Battlefleet Gothic.

We'll be playing through the first mission from the BFG starter pack: Cruiser Clash; a 1v1 skirmish between small Imperial and Chaos fleets. No experience needed, just a willingness to make explosion noises when appropriate.

Led by fleet admiral Mae, we'll cover the basic rules of play: turn phases, leadership, movement, shields, ordnance, orders, and scoring. Ships will almost certainly explode.

What to bring:

  • D6 Dice

  • A tape measure

  • Enthusiasm for the void

What we’ll provide:

  • Ships

  • Markers

  • Starter rules.

If the event goes well, we'll be running follow-up sessions covering missions 2 and 3 from the starter pack, which add even more of the core rules and extra complexity. Getting you “all ahead full” to launch your own BFG campaign.

Whether you're a grizzled admiral dusting off old memories of the warp, or a fresh-faced captain who's never heard of the Gothic War — all are welcome.
